Wine tasting

Come to Barbaterre and enjoy a unique experience in the hills between Parma and Reggio. Barbaterre offers all of its customers the chance to take a tour of the winery and taste its wines. Join one of our members of staff for a step-by-step examination of the production processes for our traditional method, bottle-fermented and still wines. Take a first-hand look at all of the procedures carried out by our “vigneron” Franco when he makes Barbaterre wines.
Let us take you and your senses on a journey of discovery through the aromas and flavours of our wines, as well as traditional Emilian dishes.
During the experience, you’ll also get the chance to taste our oil and savour the aromas and flavours of our grappas.

THREE GLASSES

This tasting session will introduce you to the three types of wine that we make:

  • Traditional method: 2016 Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature, made with 100% Pinot Nero grapes off the skins, using the traditional method.
  • • Ancestral method: 2018 Arşân, a semi-sparkling Lambrusco wine that undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle (so it contains yeasts) and is made with a blend of three grape varieties (Salamino, Grasparossa and Malbo Gentile).
  • Still red: 2018 Pèder, a still red wine that is made in steel vats and aged in wooden barrels for 12 months. It is made with 100% Pinot Nero grapes.

Our land

This tasting session will introduce you to five of our wines:

  • Traditional method: 2016 Blanc de Noirs, made with Pinot Nero grapes off the skins, using the traditional method.
  • Ancestral method: 2018 Arşân, a Lambrusco that undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle (so it contains yeasts) and is made with a blend of three grape varieties.
  • Ancestral method: 2017 Besméin Capolegh, a semi-sparkling Marzemino dell’Emilia rosé that undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle.
  • Still red: 2018 Pèder, a still red wine that is made in steel vats and aged in wooden barrels for 12 months. It is made with 100% Pinot Nero grapes.
  • Traditional method Riserva: Franco and Grazia’s children are called Marco, Andrea and Alessandra. The first three letters of each of their names come together in Marandalè 60: a traditional method wine made with Pinot Nero grapes, which is aged on the lees for more than 10 years to produce the most exquisite embodiment of the essence of Barbaterre.
